Yes, thats true that there is one day to go to the start of the Finnish Melges 24 ranking 2007. The first race will be sailed this upcoming weekend in Tallinn, Estonia.
This year will be the 8th year that this national Finnish ranking has been sailed. In 2000 the fleet consisted only from 5 boats but now there are already 21 boats(18 in Finland and 3 in Estonia). Also the races are not all in Finland.
Last autumn history was made. The Finnish Melges 24 ranking expanded to Estonia with one race and at the same time this was the first time ever that a Melges 24 fleet race was sailed in Estonia. During season 2007 there will be 2 races out of 7 in Estonia.
It seems that this first ranking event will collect 10 boats on the starting line:-)
