Team Terra Eindomsmegling / NOR 554 helmed by Peder Jahre won the Nordic Championship in Borstahusen by the closest possible margin - 1 point. Second was Sebago / NOR 400 helmed by Kristian Nergaard. Third Sitting Duck / SWE 508 helmed by Claes Röjning. The Finns had their moments but didn´t get a steady and solid performance in the challenging conditions. Kaiser Soze / FIN 662 had a excellent change to the bronze medal after day 1 but a couple of small mistakes kept them 4th overall. The other Finns/Estonians placed as following: 6th Pohjola-Fonecta Finder / FIN 650 helmed by Tomi Hakola, 11th EST 476 helmed by Tiit Vihul, 16th Elsa / FIN 328 helmed by Paul Andersson and 18th Lainisalo / FIN 319 helmed by Jan Malmgren.
All other Finns/Estonians had problems with their boats or did something special... FIN 650 almost lost their rudder on Saturday after their bottom rudder pin came up from the rudder gudgeon, the hiking line on EST 476 broke on Saturday and all crew members fell into the water - FIN 328 rescued the crew. FIN 319 had problems with their spinnaker halyard + shrouds.
The 18 boat fleet raced on Saturday and Sunday. The wind and weather conditions were the same on both days - rain, thunder, sunshine and winds from varying from SW to NW with a velocity of 5 to 12 m/s. The strong current gave a extra spice to the the competition.
