The last day of Finnish Melges 24 ranking got the waited grande finale also from the weather point of view - sunshine from a blue sky, temperatures varying from 17 to 19 degrees and wind coming in from SE with a velocity of 4 to 6 m/s.
Three races scheduled for day 2 and also three races sailed in great style. FIN529 helmed by Sami Ekblad had a excellent weekend making everything right - 5 wins from 6 races didn´t leave anyone a chance. This superb sailing also gave their 7th in a row win to the Finnish Melges 24 ranking trophy! EST646 helmed by Tonu Toniste our corinthian European Champion had some problems throughout the weekend but steady performance gave them a "easy" second place. The fight for third place was tight - three boats (EST476,FIN214 & FIN316) within three points.

The Finnish Melges 24 sailing season has now ended for most of the boats. The Finnish Melges 24 Fleet will have exciting moment one week from now. Next Saturday at the International Melges 24 Association AGM meeting in Paris it will be decided who will get the 2010 World Championship. Tallinn, Estonia has a bid for this event...
