North Sails pricing and update

This year has been yet another exceptional year in the M-24 class!

I think I may have been saying that for quite a few years now and every year seems to get better and better!  The class really is getting stronger and stronger every season and with the lack of activity right now in the America’s Cup more and more AC sailors are turning to the M-24 for high level racing.  North Sails have been involved in the class now since it was first introduced into the USA approximately 18 years ago.  Now with almost 800 boats on the water the depth of talent in the class gets deeper every year.
One of the nice consistencies in the class though is the ever present North Sails Team!  Around the globe we now have more North Sails people involved in the class than ever before ensuring that whichever regatta you attend a North Sails Team member will be available to help you. 

The highlight of 2008 was the Worlds in Sardinia which was a truly memorable event. 114 boats raced in a variety of conditions which made for a true test of the teams and their equipment.  North Sails delivered the fastest products as always and took the first three places overall and the majority of the top ten. Our standard off the shelf race products were used by the top three boats overall, these were not custom one off sails only available for the big guns as is often the case with other OD Lofts at premier regattas.

Annapolis NA Championships
I am only just back from the NA Championships in Annapolis which was an interesting event to say the least!  I haven’t been quite so cold sailing an M-24 in a great number of years!  In the run up to the regatta and day one we had the pleasure of a cold front sweeping down from the frozen North!  The only good thing about it was the nice strong winds it delivered, not quite so nice was the threat of snow and the VERY cold sailing on the first day.  Soup and Rum in the club afterwards soon took the chill off!  On the preceding days the weather gradually warmed up and on the final day it was very nice with full sunshine and light breezes.
Sailing with Team Barbarians we found the conditions a little tough and could only manage 11^th overall this time.  This is our last M-24 regatta of 2008 and we look forward to meeting many of you again on and off the water in 2009.
