What a sailing day for the season starter here in Espoo. Blue sky, appr. 20 degrees and wind blowing from E with a velocity of app. 16 knots and in . In total 18 boats starting the season just outside the harbor of the organising club EMK.
The organising committee did a fantastic job in setting up a good course and making 5 good starts for the fleet.
Lumi FIN651 helmed by Kristian Raij did a steady job snatching a 5th, 2nd, 1st, 1st and 4th. Rock City EST 791 helmed by Tiit Vihul sailed also a good series - 4th, 1st, 3rd, 3rd and 2nd. These two boats are sharing the overall lead going to day 2. In 3rd place FIN645 helmed by Freddy Markelin sailed a 6th, 4th, 4th, 5th and a 3rd. Freddy Markelin has 22 points after day 1. Just behind with 23 points is "Zuxu" EST 791 helmed by Peter Saraskin.
It´s going to be a interesting day 2 because of the extremely tight top 6.
